Alandi, 8th May 2025: Amid growing speculation about a possible reconciliation between the two factions of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), MLA Rohit Pawar stated that no decision on reunification can be made without a thorough and official discussion involving all key leaders and party members.

Speaking to reporters in Alandi, Pawar clarified, “Any talk of the two NCPs coming together must first involve a joint meeting between Sharad Pawar, Supriya Sule, Jayant Patil, and Ajit Pawar. Only after such discussions can we take a stand or comment on the matter.”

Addressing questions about recent informal conversations between Sharad Pawar and journalists, Rohit Pawar said, “I am not aware of any such informal discussions. No message has been conveyed to us, so it is difficult for us to comment. Once we have clarity from Pawar Saheb and Supriya Tai, we will be able to speak on this.”

Rohit Pawar, who is both Sharad Pawar’s grandson and Ajit Pawar’s nephew, acknowledged the emotional and familial dimensions of the issue, saying, “This is not just a political matter but also a family one. In Indian tradition, living together as a family is important. If both families and parties are to unite, it must be through open discussion and consensus among all leaders.”

He added that, considering Sharad Pawar’s age and health, decisions should be guided by his advice but ultimately executed by Supriya Sule. “Pawar Saheb is our guide, but Supriya Tai, being from the younger generation and aware of the sentiments of party workers and MLAs, will take the final decision after consulting Pawar Saheb,” Rohit Pawar said.

Responding to comments by senior leader Chhagan Bhujbal about the need for unity, Pawar remarked, “Bhujbal Saheb has decades of experience and knows both Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar closely. Ultimately, this is both a party and a family matter. No decision will be taken without consulting all MLAs, office-bearers, and workers.”

Rohit Pawar concluded that any move toward NCP reunification would only proceed after an official party meeting and consensus among all stakeholders, reiterating, “No decision will be taken without thorough discussion and agreement from everyone involved.”
