Pune Municipal Corporation Directs Hoarding Owners to Submit Reports or Face Declaration of Unauthorised Status

Pune, 5th May 2023: In response to a recent accident in Ravet, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has launched a campaign to crack down on illegal hoardings in the city. The campaign aims to reduce the number of hoardings that pose a threat to public safety and obstruct pedestrians and drivers.

After a meeting with the Additional Commissioner and ward office officials, strategies were discussed to curb the issue of unauthorized hoardings in the municipal limits. The Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner of the zone were also present at the meeting.

The PMC has intensified its action against unauthorized hoardings and has sought the police administration’s help to ensure that there is no obstruction in the action.

Madhav Jagtap, head of Sky and Sign department, PMC, has stated that over 1,500 unauthorised hoardings have already been removed and 1,500 more will be removed under police protection. The safety of citizens is paramount, and there are currently around 3,900 official and unofficial hoardings in the city. The PMC has directed hoarding owners to submit a report or face the risk of their hoardings being declared unauthorized.
