Pune: Nagarwala Students Lead Traffic Drive for Clean Air and Safe Roads On Gandhi Jayanti
Kalyani Nagar, 4th October 2023: In a heartfelt tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his birth anniversary, the students of Nagarwala, along with their dedicated teachers, took to the streets for a Traffic Drive with a compelling message: Clean Air and Safe Roads. This noble initiative, led by Jaffar, one of the Trustees, marked an inspiring day filled with purpose and community spirit.
With meticulous planning, the event aimed to address every aspect of the traffic drive. Two traffic wardens were present to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and, most importantly, the safety of the participating children.
The event also witnessed the presence and active participation of PMC staff members Dhairyashil Vandekar and Devendra Jaani, along with several life members, who joined the cause to encourage and walk alongside the young advocates for change.
The young participants, armed with placards and fervent slogans, conveyed essential messages regarding the significance of using footpaths, wearing helmets, and the dangers of driving on the wrong side of the road. Their spirited demonstration caught the attention of numerous offenders and garnered appreciation from many residents who have long been concerned about road safety.
Following the successful traffic drive, all participants were treated to a well-deserved snack. Special chocolates were generously sponsored by a life member of Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN), adding a sweet note to the day’s activities. The event concluded on time, with participants and onlookers alike coming together to sing civic-related songs, culminating in the rendition of our National Anthem.
