Pune: No Limit To Number Of Dhol-Tasha Pathaks In Ganapati Visarjan – Police Commissioner
Pune, 29th August 2022: This year there will be 3,566 public Ganeshotsav mandals and 4.54 lakh household Ganapati in Pune city. A total of 7,500 police personnel and officials will be deployed for the smooth conduct of Ganeshotsav informed Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta today at a press conference.
“There will be no restriction on how many dhol tasha teams should be kept by Ganesh Mandals for the Ganesh Visarjan”, he added.
Additional Commissioner of Police Namdev Chavan, Rajendra Dahale, Deputy Commissioner of Police Priyanka Naranware, and Rahul Shrirame were present on this occasion.
“Quick Reaction Team (QRT) officials and police personnel will be deployed in Pune and police officers and staff from the traffic branch will also be appointed for traffic control. Preventive action has been taken against a total of 1709 people in Pune city to maintain law and order during Ganeshotsav”, the city police chief said.

Chhatrapati Sambhaji Bridge: The main route for the immersion procession, the Lakdipul metro over the bridge has a height of 21 feet. While the height of the Garware Metro Station Bridge is 18 feet, the width of Service Road on both sides of the over-bridge on Karve Road is 15 feet. As the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Metro bridge is 21 feet high, the procession may be obstructed due to large immersion scenes. Therefore, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Priyanka Naranvare appealed that the Mandals should keep the height of the chariots at 15 to 18 feet.
Vanaz Metro Station Pillar is 20 feet, Anandnagar Metro Station Conquer Pillar is 16.5 feet, Ideal Station Conquer Pillar is 17 feet and Nalstop Curve Road is 14 feet.
