Pune: Nylon Manja Seller Booked, Police Appeal People Not Use For Flying Kites

Pune, 8th January 2023: The court has banned the sale of nylon manja, which pose a threat to the lives of humans, animals and birds. However, some traders in Pune city are still selling the banned nylon.

With the aim of not creating a threat to the lives of humans, animals and birds due to the banned nylon nets, Commissioner of Police Retesh Kumaarr has ordered all police stations and officers in charge of the crime branch units to take legal action against the traders selling banned nylon in Pune city.

Accordingly, a team led by Police Inspector Ganesh Mane, in charge of Crime Branch Unit 4, conducted a raid at Tamboli General Store at Shivaji Statue, Juna Bazar, in Khadki, Pune, on Saturday. An FIR has been registered against the shop owner Adip Abdul Karim Tamboli, at Khadki police station, for offences under Section 5 of the Environment Protection Act 1986, along with Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Amol Zende, ACP (Crime-2) Narayan Shirgaonkar and Police Inspector Ganesh Mane. The team included Assistant Police Inspector Vikas Jadhav, Police Sub-Inspector Jaideep Patil, ASI Mahendra Pawar, Police Constable Vinod Mahajan, Swapnil Kamble, and Vaishali Makdi.
