Khadaki, 13th March 2026: More than 600 former armed forces personnel explored employment opportunities at a dedicated job fair in Pune on Friday, where around 45 companies offered nearly 2,000 vacancies across multiple sectors.

The recruitment initiative was organised by the Directorate General Resettlement under the Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare of the Ministry of Defence. The event was held at the Bombay Engineer Group and Centre and aimed to help retired defence personnel transition into civilian careers.

Around 620 ex-servicemen attended the job fair, interacting with representatives from national and multinational companies seeking skilled and disciplined manpower. The event created a platform for veterans to explore career options after completing their service in the armed forces.

The programme was inaugurated by SBK Singh along with Vishal Aggarwal, who interacted with participating veterans and company representatives about employment prospects and industry requirements.

Devendra Akolkar attended the event as the corporate guest of honour.

Companies Offer Nearly 2,000 Vacancies:
Several leading companies participated in the recruitment drive, including L&T Defence, Wirtgen Group, Wilo Mather and Platt Pumps, Cemindia Projects and JSW Steel, among others.

Officials said the job fair enabled veterans to showcase their technical, managerial and administrative skills developed during military service. At the same time, companies gained an opportunity to recruit experienced professionals known for discipline, leadership and operational expertise.

The initiative reflects the continued efforts of the Directorate General Resettlement to support ex-servicemen in building second careers after retirement from the armed forces. Such employment drives aim to facilitate the integration of veterans into the civilian workforce while helping industry access a highly trained and dependable talent pool.
