Pune: PCMC Clerk Caught With Rs One Lakh Bribe From Contractor
Pimpri, 21st March 2023: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today laid a trap at the Water Supply Department of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), and detained a clerk for demanding bribe. The clerk was caught with Rs one lakh cash.
The investigation revealed an ongoing pattern of corruption, where officials were demanding bribes from contractors in exchange for work. In this particular case, the clerk Dilip Bhavshing Ade (51) had demanded a bribe of Rs one lakh from a contractor for tender work. The contractor has got the tender as per process and to prepare a work order file, the clerk allegedly demanded the bribe.
The ACB acted on the complaint and conducted a successful sting operation leading to the arrest of the clerk. The investigation is still ongoing.
