Pimpri Chinchwad, 26th April 2024: The education department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has issued show-cause notices to 9 private schools in the city. These notices were issued due to the schools’ failure to validate Aadhaar in the UIDAI and Saral systems for students enrolled in private schools, despite repeated correspondence and both written and verbal communication attempts. Administrative officer Sangita Bangar informed that a hearing is scheduled for April 29 to discuss proposing disciplinary action against these schools.

The data stored in the UIDAI system serves as the foundation for implementing various schemes of both the Central and Maharashtra State Governments. Senior officials regularly inquire about the validity of students’ Aadhaar details. In this context, during a review meeting held on April 22, the Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Primary Education expressed dissatisfaction with senior officials of the Education Department for their failure to update Aadhaar validity records.

A review of student Aadhaar validity in the UIDAI and Saral systems of private schools in Pimpri-Chinchwad city has been conducted. It has been observed that the task of validating student Aadhaar details is pending, as indicated in the attached list containing the total number of students registered in the UIDAI system by 9 private schools in the city.

According to the review, it is evident that 100% of the students enrolled in these private schools have not completed their Aadhaar validation, despite receiving repeated instructions throughout the year to do so via the simple system. It has been observed that the school administration neglected to validate Aadhaar, indicating a serious issue that needs to be addressed promptly.

Show-cause notices have been issued to 9 private schools in the city, as disciplinary action is being proposed for their failure to conduct Aadhaar medical examinations for 100% of the students in the UIDAI and Saral systems. Hearings for these schools have already been scheduled. Additionally, the headmaster or principal of the concerned school must be present at the Education Department office of the PCMC at 11 am on Monday (April 29) for the said hearing. It is imperative to bring the government approval letter, deputy director approval letter, first approval letter, and self-approval of the school while attending the hearing.

Failure to attend this hearing or providing unsatisfactory disclosures may result in appropriate disciplinary action being proposed against the schools. Additionally, recommendations for the de-recognition of the school will be submitted to the Office of the Deputy Director of Education in Pune.

‘Show cause’ notices have been issued to nine schools by the PCMC Education Department. These notices inquire why disciplinary action should not be taken against the schools for failing to validate Aadhaar in the UIDAI and Saral systems. The schools receiving these notices include Elpro International School, ORCHIDS The International School – Tathawade, Al-Noor English Medium School, Euro School Wakad,Akshara International School & Junior College, Rodgers English School, Sadhu Vaswani International School, Alphonsa High School, and Dignitary Naval Academy.
