Pune: PCMC Gears Up For 41st Anniversary Celebrations
Pimpri, 9th October 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) is all set to celebrate its 41st anniversary on October 11, and the occasion promises a day filled with festivities and meaningful events. Various programs have been meticulously organized to mark this milestone for the municipality.
The day’s celebrations will kick off at 10 am when Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shekhar Singh will pay homage to the late Annasaheb Magar by laying wreaths at his statue, situated in the main administrative building of the Municipal Corporation in Pimpri.
Following the wreath-laying ceremony, the Municipal Corporation will host a blood donation camp in the same location, commencing at 10:00 a.m. This noble endeavour aims to encourage civic participation and save lives.
In addition to these initiatives, the Corporation has planned various competitions for its dedicated employees. These include music chair and rope pull contests, fostering team spirit and camaraderie among the staff.
A special event titled “New Home Minister” has been scheduled at 11 a.m., exclusively for female employees. The highlight of this event is the paithani saree prize, aimed at recognizing and honouring the contribution of women in the Municipal Corporation.
Moreover, the day promises creative and entertaining activities for municipal employees. Rangoli competitions, sweet and spicy food cooking contests, and a fancy dress competition, all centred around the themes of ‘Majhi Mati Maja Desh’, ‘Mera Bharat Mahan,’ and ‘Dot Rangoli,’ will be held throughout the day.
To wrap up the day on a high note, Commissioner Shekhar Singh will conduct a felicitation ceremony at 3 p.m., honouring the officers, employees, and winners of the Rangoli, cooking, and costume competitions for the year 2022-23. The event will take place at the prestigious Ramkrishna More Auditorium in Chinchwad.
This ceremony is expected to be attended by people’s representatives, former councillors, officers, employees, and members of the community. It will serve as a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the hard work and dedication of those who have contributed to the Corporation’s success.
The Municipal Corporation has also announced that officers and employees will participate in a song-singing program, followed by an orchestra performance, as a fitting finale to the day’s celebrations.
