Pimpri Chinchwad, 6th January 2025: A total of almost 16,000 crimes were registered in the Pimpri Chinchwad area last year. Compared to the previous year, 2023, the difference is minimal. Among these, 85 murders and 170 attempted murders were registered. With this high number, the Police Administration is looking at ways to reduce crime rates. According to police reports, for the year 2024, a total of 85 murders were reported in the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) jurisdiction, which stretches from Sangvi to Talegaon Dabhade and from Alandi/Chakan to Hinjawadi. Attempted murders also saw an increase of 54 cases; while 116 attempts were made in 2023, 170 attempts to take someone else’s life were recorded in 2024.
