Pune, 10 September 2023: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Corporation Limited (MSEDCL) has approved two new sub stations for Pimpri Chinchwad considering the increasing demand in the area and expansion of infrastructure to fulfil the need. The two 220 kV capacity extra-high-voltage substations are likely to improve the facilities in Bhosari, Chinchwad MIDC and adjoining areas.

The Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) will be given the responsibility to install the new sub stations in Pimpri Chinchwad, said officials. The new substations will reduce the load on the current sub stations as many consumers will be shifted to the new substations and the citizens are less likely to witness power outages in the area. The MSEDCL has also approved expansion of one of the already installed substations in Pimpri Chinchwad and the expansion is likely to increase the power supply by 100 MVA.

The decision is also likely to impact around 20 villages around Pimpri Chinchwad as the residents will witness improvement in the facilities that will reduce the power outage problem, said officials.
