Pune: PMC Issues Order To Shut Educational Institutions; Read Detailed Guidelines About Hotels, Wedding Halls

Pune, February 21, 2021: As per the instruction of the state government, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued an order to keep schools, colleges and private coaching classes completely closed till February 28. The decision has been taken due to a sudden rise in Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in Pune city.
PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar in his order stated that online classes shall continue. Also, study centres/libraries for competitive exams will continue to operate with 50% strength.
Wedding: Only 50% seating capacity or 200 guests whichever is less will be allowed. A no-objection certificate (NOC) from the police is compulsory for the ceremony.
All hotels, restaurants, bars, food courts will have to close at 11 pm.
There will be a restriction on the movement of people except for essential service/reason between 11 pm and 6 am from February 22. People/vehicle/establishment engaged in essential services like supply of milk, vegetable, fruit, newspaper etc are exempted. Also, employees/vehicles engaged in shift work are exempted.
It is mandatory for all citizens to wear masks and use sanitisers at all wedding lawns/halls, cultural halls, theatres, cinema halls, shopping malls, religious places, parks and similar venues in the Pune Municipal Corporation area.
Similarly, as per the orders issued from time to time, the organizers have to ensure that there is no crowding on their premises. It will also be mandatory to strictly follow the rules of social distance and sanitation.
PMC Commissioner Kumar stated in his order that those who are found violating these guidelines will be prosecuted for offences under the Disaster Management Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
