Pune: PMC To Organise Lok Adalat On September 25 For Property Tax Defaulters To Pay Their Arrears; 50% Concession On Penalty Offered

Pune, 15th September 2021: Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) will organize a Lok Adalat on September 25, for property owners to pay their arrears. These property owners will be given a 50 per cent concession on the penalty amount which will reduce the fine by Rs 70 crore. In the first phase, there are 500 property owners to participate in this Lok Adalat.

The Standing Committee decided on Tuesday to hold a Lok Adalat for property owners.

The concession scheme will be applicable for those property owners from the city, whose residential, non-residential property tax arrears are up to Rs 50 lakh with the tax amount and the penalty till August 31, 2021.

The notice holders will be given a 50 per cent concession at PMC’s Lok Adalat. For this, the property owner will have to deposit the amount of basic tax and the amount of penalty in one lump sum. The scheme will consider only the first five hundred property holders in the order of highest arrears. The amount deposited in the court is non-refundable or if the amount is not paid, the settlement will be cancelled, said standing committee chairman Hemant Rasane.
