Pune, 30th October 2022: The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) has appointed a Mumbai-based agency to prepare the detailed project report (DPR) for the proposed 81.89-kilometre inner ring road within the next six months.

“The new agency is expected to ready the DPR for the PMRDA inner ring road. Once the DPR is ready, tenders will be issued and phase-wise work will be carried out,” he said.

According to PMRDA commissioner Rahul Mahiwal, the agency’s appointment will accelerate the project, which is expected to reduce traffic congestion in the city and improve access to highways.

While the agency will prepare the DPR for the entire stretch, he stated that the first 4.8km (Solu to Wadgaonshinde) will be given priority to allow tenders to be floated.

The PMRDA will spend Rs 94 lakh on the new DPR, according to officials.
