Pune Police Issue Traffic Advisory Ahead Of Muharram Procession Tomorrow, Check Details Here

Pune 28th July 2023: The traffic branch of Pune city police has planned temporary traffic diversion and road closure for July 29 as the Muslim community people will observe Muharram and the processions will also be organised at several places in the city.

The traffic branch has shared details of the processions and their routes that will be organised in the city for commuters to avoid taking that route for a particular period and use alternate routes to reach their destinations.

Below are the routes of processions organised in Pune on July 29, the traffic diversion or block will be implemented on a temporary basis on these routes :

1. Main Procession (Afternoon at 3 pm)

Route: Shreenath Talkies to Sangam Bridge Visarjan Spot via Datta Mandir Belbaug Chowk – Budhwar Chowk – Jijamata Chowk – Gadgil Statue near Shaniwarwada – Dengale Bridge – RTO Chowk – Sangam Bridge.

2. Camp Procession (Afternoon at 12 pm)

Route: Taboot Street, Batliwala Bagicha – Sarbatwala Chowk – Babajan Dargah – Bhopale Chowk – Gawkasab Masjid – M G Road – Kohinoor Chowk – Bhagwan Mahavir Chowk – Naaz Hotel Chowk – Bootee Street to Batliwala Bagicha Chowk (The procession stops here)

From 2 pm, the processions will follow this route:
Nehru Memorial Hall – Rahim Petrol Pump – Samarth Police Station – Power House Chowk – KEM Hospital – Apollo Talkies Chowk – Daruwala Bridge – Phadke Haud Bridge – Moti Chowk – Sonya Maruti Chowk – Vijay Maruti Chowk to Belbaug Chowk – Shreenath Cinema and here joins the Main Procession

3. Khadki Procession (from 6:45 pm)

Route: Bopodi Chowk – Old Mumbai Pune Highway to Dapodi River Bank for immersion.

4. Patil Estate Lane No. 10 Procession (Afternoon at 2 pm)

Route: Procession from Sangam Bridge near Reshim Vibhag and Dairy – Returning to Patil Estate Lane No. 10 – Immersion at Sangam Bridge.

5. Imamwada Camp Procession (From 10:30 am)

Route: Imamwada in Camp to Agakhan Compound – Back to Imamwada via Rahim Petrol Pump, Nehru Memorial Chowk – Police Commissioner Office – General Post Office Chowk – Sadhu Vaswani Chowk – 13 Connaught Road – Agakhan Compound (return after religious program) – Returning to Imamwada via the reverse route for immersion.

As per the mentioned procession routes, there will be a temporary closure or diversion of traffic for a short duration. As the procession moves forward, the road will be opened for traffic movement The commuters are advised to use alternative routes during the processions.
