Pune, 29th November 2022: The pre-planned construction of new towers and other repairs for the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (Mahapareshan or Mahatransco) 132 KV high voltage lines on the Aundh to Ravet BRT road will be carried out in two phases. Therefore, on Thursday (December 1st) from 6 am to 1 pm and Sunday (December 4th) from 6 am to 8 am, the power supply will be shut down in some areas of Shivajinagar, Deccan.

There is a 132 KV ultra-high pressure substation of Mahatransco at Ganeshkhind. This sub-station is supplied with power through ultra-high voltage 132 KV lines from Ganeshkhind to Chinchwad and Ganeshkhind to Rahatni. However, due to the towers and wires of both these power lines, the traffic on the Aundh to Ravet BRT road is becoming a major obstacle. To remove it, a new monopole tower will be erected in collaboration with Mahapareshan Company and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Due to the construction of the new tower and other technical works of 132 KV power lines in two phases, the power supply to the Ganeshkhind 132 KV substation of Mahatransco will have to be shut down. Therefore, the power supply of 32 power lines of 11 KV and 22 KV capacity of Mahavitaran will be stopped. It includes 28 power lines in Shivajinagar and four power lines in the Kothrud division. Therefore, during the pre-planned working hours, the electricity supply of about 38,300 customers in the Shivajinagar area and about 8,500 customers in the Deccan and Jungli Maharaj Road area will have to be shut off indefinitely.

In the first phase on Thursday (Day 1) from 6 am to 1 pm and the second phase on Sunday (Day 4) from 6 am to 8 am, the power supply will be shut down in some parts of Shivajinagar and Deccan. These include FC Road, Wakdewadi, Model Colony, Modibag 1, Range Hills, E Square, Vadarwadi, Gokhalenagar, Lakaki Road, Senapati Bapat Road, Hanuman Nagar, Mangalwadi, Vetalbaba Chowk, Raj Bhavan, Khairewadi, Ashoknagar, Yashwant Ghadgenagar, Police Line Colony, Ghole Rasta, Shivajinagar Gavthan, Congress Bhawan, Savarkar Bhawan, District Court, Kamgar Putla, Tofkhana, Mangala Talkies, IITM, Castel Royal Tower, Kakade Mall, SSPMS College, Revenue Colony, Akashvani, Shimla Office, CID Colony, Sancheti Hospital, Lakshmi Road, Narayan Peth, Shaniwar Peth and a part of Sadashiv Peth, Chitrashala, Apte Road, half of Shirole Road, Jungli Maharaj Road, Pulachi Wadi, Chhatrapati Chowk, IMDR College, Ganeshwadi, and other areas.

Mahatransco and Mahavitaran have appealed to the citizens to cooperate during the pre-scheduled power outage on Thursday and Sunday due to the essential works of new towers and ultra-high pressure power lines on the Aundh to Ravet BRT road.
