Pune : PSI and Advocate Arrested For Demanding and Accepting Bribe From Accident Victim’s Son

Pune 23rd Oct 2023: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) team of Pune division on Sunday arrested a Police Sub-Inspector and an advocate for demanding a bribe from a person to give him documents related to an accident case in which the complainant had lost his father. The accused have been identified as Police Sub-Inspector Pravin Sugriv Lokre (53) and Advocate Madhukar Vitthal Korde (35), both were apprehended by the Anti Corruption Bureau Pune while accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. The case came to light after a 41-year-old individual filed a complaint with the Pune ACB in the matter.

The complainant alleged that Lokre and Korde demanded Rs 30,000 in bribes for facilitating the issuance of insurance papers and other related documents of the vehicle that was involved in an accident in which he had lost his father. After negotiations, the bribe amount was settled at Rs 20,000. Frustrated by the demand, the complainant approached the Pune ACB office and filed a complaint against the police officer and advocate.

Following the complaint, the ACB officials conducted a thorough investigation on October 15 and 16 to verify the details. Subsequently, Lokre and Korde were caught red-handed at Bhigwan Police Station while accepting the agreed-upon amount of Rs 20,000. During the operation, Lokre was caught accepting the bribe from the complainant while Korde was acting as a mediator. A case under relevant sections has been registered in the matter, police are investigating further into it.
