Pune: Reelstar Woman Cop Among Six Face Dismissal From Service in Extortion Cases
Pune, 11th April 10, 2026: Pune City Police commissioner Amitesh Kumar said six police personnel accused in two separate extortion cases will be terminated from service, as the department moves to take strict action against those involved in misconduct that has brought disrepute to the force.
The action follows the exposure of serious allegations, including extorting lakhs of rupees by threatening to implicate a college principal in a false POCSO case, and another case where IT professionals were allegedly threatened and forced to pay money.
In the first case, police sub-inspector Ajit Bade, a woman constable who is also a popular reel star, and constable Sudam Tayade have been booked for allegedly extorting Rs 7 lakh from the principal of a reputed college in Mangalwar Peth by threatening to frame him in a child sexual abuse case.
Following the registration of the offence, the three accused personnel reportedly went absconding, prompting the formation of special teams to trace them. The commissioner has already ordered their suspension and confirmed that dismissal proceedings have been initiated.
In a separate incident, three personnel attached to the Wagholi police station — head constable Kiran Abdagire and constables Ganesh Khade and Kiran Kamble — have been accused of extorting Rs 10,000 from a young IT professional couple by threatening to implicate them in a sex racket. The accused also allegedly assaulted the male victim. Deputy commissioner of police Somay Munde has suspended the three officials in connection with the case.
Commissioner Kumar said strict action would be taken against those found guilty of misconduct. “There will be zero tolerance for acts that bring disrepute to the police force. No one will be spared,” he said, adding that the process to terminate all six personnel from service has been initiated.
