Pune Road Rage: Doctor Abused And Assaulted When He Asked For Damage Charges After Truck Hit His Car
Bavdhan, 20th February 2023: During a verbal altercation on Sunday afternoon following a truck hitting his car from behind on the Bhugaon road, five persons, including two women, attacked a 50-year-old medical professional with an iron rod, causing him to fracture his hand.
Anesthetist Sandip Mehare reported that a truck hit his car as he was driving to his sister’s residence in Bavdhan.
He flashed his right indicator to make a turn in the direction of the apartment building where his sister resides, according to Mehare. Suddenly, a truck approaching from behind brushed against the side of his automobile, but the driver continued. Mehare followed and overtook him, after which the truck driver halted his vehicle.
Mehare said that his automobile was damaged on the side and the trunk. He continued by saying that he asked the truck driver to cover any damages brought on by his reckless driving. Instead, the driver began verbally abusing and hitting him. Then he dialled a number. Four individuals, including two ladies, arrived in a white car shortly after and requested that the truck driver leave.
Mehare claimed that all four began abusing and punching him when he attempted to speak with one of them. His right hand was broken when one of them struck him with an iron rod. Mehare claimed that the gang then left in their vehicle. After this, he filed a complaint against five people at the Hinjewadi Police Station under Pimpri Chinchwad police.
The police investigation is ongoing, and a senior police official has confirmed that the vehicle will be traced and the group will be arrested.
