Pune, 31st October 2022: The men behind Sairung Developers Pvt Ltd, a firm, appear to specialise in robbing people of their money by advertising and promoting properties that only exist on paper. The father-son owner allegedly fled abroad in 2021 after feeling the heat of an increasing number of investor complaints.

After advertisements for a supposed property in Handewadi appeared online one and a half months ago, the Pimpri-Chinchwad police issued a warning to potential property investors.

The police have released a notice that says: If you have seen a lucrative proposal online for investment in a project at Handewadi by Sairung Developers Pvt Ltd, do not get excited. These developers are already blacklisted for fraudulently cheating people to the tune of Rs 61 crore.

The firm duped many people by enticing investors through advertising, even though no project existed in reality. Although cops only mentioned two cases, sources said there were many more. Over 10 years, at least 650 people have been duped in various bogus development projects. While the firm’s owners, RK Malik and Shah Rukh Malik, are on the run, Interpol has reportedly been alerted to their whereabouts. According to the Pimpri-Chinchwad police crime branch unit 1, Malik and Shah Rukh have continued to defraud people from abroad. They left the country in 2021 after some investors complained to the police about being duped out of crores of rupees.
