Pune: Sandalwood Theft On Rise, Seven Trees Stolen In Two Incidents

Pune 28th July 2023: The Pune City Police have registered two seperate cases for sandalwood theft reported in the city. A total of seven sandalwood trees have been reportedly stolen in these thefts. Police have booked unidentified people in the matter.

In one such incidents reported in Pune Camp area, the thieves have stolen five trees worth Rs 20,000 from Army Officers Quarters premises. The theft was reported on July 27 at around 7 am and police have booked unidentified people in the matter. A case has been registered at Bundgarden Police Station.

In another incident reported at Hadapsar, two sandalwood trees were stolen from a society bungalow near Akashwani. A case in this regard has been registered at Hadapsar police station against an unknown person. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
