Pune: Shreeguru Balaji Tambe Passes Away

Pune, 10th August 2021: Shreeguru Balaji Tambe who through Ayurved and Yoga tried to bring in the social change passed away today afternoon. He was 81. He is survived by his wife Veena, son Sunil and Sanjay, daughter-in law and grandchildren.

He was admitted in a private hospital last week after he was keeping unwell. He died during the treatment.

Through a Marathi daily he ran a column ‘Family Doctor’, spreading awareness about the health and Ayurveda among the readers. He wrote thousands of articles and was instrumental in creating awareness about Ayurveda among the common people.

He was also involved in producing authentic Ayurvedic medicines for various treatments. His ‘Atamsantulun village’ at Karla near Lonavala was one such centre of Ayurveda, its treatment and teaching. He had many disciples from foreign land for learning Ayurveda and taking the treatment for various ailments.

He rose to fame with his book on “Garbh Sanskar” which got translated into six languages including English.

He used to give lectures through Marathi channel on ‘Shreemad Bhagwatgeeta’. He had a huge fan following. He took Ayurveda to international platform and preached about it.

The final rites will be performed late in the evening.
