Pune: Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganapati Bappa Arrives To The Sound Of Drums

Pune, 31st August 2022: ‘Ganapati Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya’, the sounds of clarinets, shells, drums, and traditional chariots saw the arrival of  Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Ganapati.

Bappa was welcomed at 12.10 pm by the Maharashtra State Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil. On this occasion, Punit Balan, Board Trustee and Head of Festival, Board President Sanjeev Javale, Janhvi Dhariwal-Balan, BJP General Secretary Rajesh Pande, Sandeep Khardekar, and other dignitaries were present.

Minister Patil said, “It is a pleasure to honour Bappa of Shrimant Bhausaheb Rangari Trust, India’s first public Ganesha, a tradition dating back to 1892. Bhausaheb Rangari Mandal did important work during the independence period.”

At 9.30 am, Bappa’s procession started from the mandap and came back to the mandap via Sri Tambadi Jogeshwari Chowk, Appa Balwant Chowk. Balan, along with Minister Patil, drove the chariot in this procession. On this occasion, Shri Ram, Kalavant, Chetak, Orchestra, Abhedya, Samarth, Jagdamba, along with the drummers, accompanied by the auspicious tune of Nagara, Sanai, took out a procession from the chariot in a traditional manner to pay homage to lord Ganesha.

“It is with great joy that after almost two years, Ganeshotsav can be celebrated again with the same gaiety as the obstacles of Corona have been removed. Therefore, this Ganeshotsav will be completely different for all Ganesha devotees and will strengthen the sense of social responsibility,” said Balan.
