Sharing more about the project, Prof Rachana Sabale said, “During the lockdown, our country was facing huge issues related to migrant workers. The competition was aimed at solving the issue. Our students made an application which aimed for better coordination between the administration office and Railway station for migration of workers from one state to another. The application also helps in risk analysis by asking symptoms of Covid-19 and accordingly predicts risk on the basis of the age group of the user. The app does not require any internet and smartphone and can run on simple mobile phones. Many Non-governmental organizations also extended helping hand to the migrant workers and the app also can bridge the gap between the NGOs and workers too.
A total of 26,478 teams participated nationwide in the Hackathon including over 1 lakh IT professionals, students, and start-ups. After 3 rounds of rigorous filtration, the GHRIET team secured the 2nd Runner Up position.
