Saswad, 6th March 2025: MP Supriya Sule visited Saswad on Wednesday to assess the Purandar taluka during a review meeting. Following the meeting, she held a press conference where she strongly criticized the government’s handling of key issues, including the Beed Sarpanch murder case.

During the press conference, Sule emphasized her demand for an independent investigation into the case. “I have written to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, urging him to reopen the case files and ensure a fair probe. The statement made by Dhananjay Munde lacks any moral responsibility. His connections and recent meet with Valmik Karad’s PA indicate deeper ties, and we demand that he also be named a co-accused,” she stated.

Sule also praised BJP leader Pankaja Munde for apologizing to the victim’s family, calling it an act of political maturity. However, she accused the government of shielding criminals. “Extortion, murder, violence, and farmer fraud—what crime is left to commit? The accused in this case are receiving VIP treatment. The disturbing revelations in this case are tarnishing Maharashtra’s reputation. People trusted this government with power, but it has failed to uphold justice. The victim’s family must be suffering immensely after seeing the photos and videos,” she remarked.

She also addressed the issue of delayed recruitment in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). “There are 113 vacant seats, and 27,000 candidates have applied, paying the necessary fees. Yet, the recruitment process remains stalled. It seems nothing moves forward in this government without protests,” Sule added, hinting at possible demonstrations.
