Pune: Tamhini And Shirgaon Record Over 200 MM Rainfall In Last 24 Hours

Pune 1st July 2023: The rainfall activity has increased in Pune and adjoining districts in the last few days. Ghat sections in the district continue to record highest rainfall. According to IMD, Tamhini Ghat and Shirgaon have recorded over 200 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours.

As per the official data, 210 mm rainfall was recorded at Tamhini in the last 24 hours while 209 mm rainfall was recorded in Shirgaon. Lavasa and Lonavala too received a good rainfall as 105.5 mm rainfall was recorded in Lavasa while 94.5 mm rainfall was recorded in Lonavala in the last 24 hours.

IMD has issued an orange alert for Pune for today while yellow alert has been issued for the next two days. According to IMD bulletin ‘Heavy to very
heavy rainfall at isolated places in ghat areas’ is likely to be reported in Pune district today while ‘heavy rainfall
at isolated places in ghat areas’ is predicted for July 2 and 3.
