Pune : Two Dead And One Missing As Car Falls Into Nira Deoghar Dam Backwater

Bhor 29th July 2023: In a tragic incident reported on Saturday, two people have drowned to death while one was reported missing after a car they were travelling in fell into Nira Deoghar Dam backwater in Bhor. The incident took place near Mauje Varvand village of Bhor at around 8:30 am. One of the passenger in car managed to survive who later reported the incident to local police.

According to the survivor, he and three of his friends were going for a picnic in a car. They left the city at around 5 am towards Mahad-Bhor road to enjoy the monsoon season in the outskirts of Pune. However, as they reached Mauje Varvand village in Bhor today morning the driver of the car lost control and their car fell into Nira Deoghar Dam.

Two people identified as Akshay Ramesh Dhade (27) and Harshpreet Bamba (30) have died in the incident and their dead bodies have been recovered by local agencies with the help of villagers while one person identifed as Swapnil Parshuram Shinde (28) is still missing. Sanket Viresh Joshi (28) who was also travelling in the car at the time of incident managed to survive and he has sustained injuries in his head.

According to police, the deceased and survivor are IT engineers by profession and they were living different parts of the Pune city.
