Pune, 3rd April 2025: Two young MBA students from Madhya Pradesh lost their lives in a tragic accident on Paud Phata flyover in the early hours of Monday. Their high-speed sports motorcycle crashed into the railings of the flyover around 3:15 AM, causing a severe impact that led to fatal injuries.

The victims have been identified as Sarvesh Gopal Patil (20) and Pushkar Sudhakar Choudhary (19), both residents of Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh. They were pursuing their second-year MBA at a Pimpri-based college and were staying in Pimple Nilakh.

According to Senior Inspector Sandeep Deshmane of the Kothrud police, the accident occurred when the duo was heading towards Chandni Chowk after grabbing a late-night snack at Nal Stop Chowk, a popular spot for early-morning eateries.

“The motorcycle skidded for nearly 10 meters after colliding with the railing,” Deshmane said. “Patil, who was riding, was found unconscious on the flyover, while Choudhary was still responsive when we arrived.”

The injured students were rushed to a private hospital in Erandwane with the help of a passing car that stopped after the police sought assistance. “Patil was declared dead on arrival, while Choudhary succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday while undergoing treatment,” Deshmane added.

During their investigation, the police did not find any helmets at the accident site. “An eyewitness mentioned that one of the students had a helmet slung on his arm, which possibly fell off the bridge during the crash,” Deshmane stated. Despite conducting a search beneath the flyover, the helmet could not be located.

Patil suffered severe head injuries, while Choudhary sustained a rib fracture along with multiple internal injuries, the police confirmed.

While the students’ movements before the crash are partially known, the exact reason for them heading towards Chandni Chowk at that hour remains unclear. “They had stopped for snacks at Nal Stop, but we are yet to determine why they were traveling towards Chandni Chowk afterward,” Deshmane added.
