Pune, 27th December 2021: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has not yet declared the mode of exams that will start in less than a month.

SPPU had appointed a committee to decide how university exams would be conducted. The committee was to meet on 15th December to take the final decision but the meeting could not be conducted due to the strike of non-teaching staff in the university.

Hence the question as to how the exams will be conducted persists. With the exams around the corner, the students still aren’t clear how their exams will be held.

There has been a lot of speculation about the issue after the emergence of the Omicron variant and the increase in the number of active cases in Pune city.

The students say they have attended most of the classes in the online mode and they are now demanding that exams be held online. The students’ union has also raised questions about why the students still haven’t received any updates about their examinations.

It has been evident that the results of students in online exams have been better than offline exams and so the authorities have not yet been able to come to a conclusion.

SPPU Vice Chancellor Dr Nitin Karmalkar was to head the meeting to decide the mode of examination but after the cancellation of the previous meeting, a meeting will be held later this week to finalise how the exams will be conducted.

Meanwhile, the students have been advised to prepare for offline exams as well as online exams.
