Pune: Veteran Social Worker Sindhutai Sapkal Laid To Rest With Full State Honours

Pune, 5th January 2022: Padma Shri awardee and renowned social worker Sindhutai Sapkal (73), who was a mother to many orphans was cremated at Thosar Paga Cemetery in Pune with full state honours.

Many dignitaries were present and paid their tributes to the departed soul.

She had passed away at a hospital in Pune yesterday.

Dr Vishwajeet Kadam, Minister of State for Agriculture, laid a wreath on as a mark of respect. Mayor Muralidhar Mohol, Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta, Commissioner of Social Welfare Dr
Prashant Naranware, Additional Collector Vijay Singh Deshmukh, Additional Commissioner of Police Rajendra Dahale, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Priyanka Naranware also paid tribute to the late Sindhutai by placing wreaths.

 

The late Sindhutai was remembered by Sub-Divisional Officer Santosh Kumar Deshmukh, Pune City Tehsildar Radhika Bartakke, and citizens from the arts, literature, culture, social, and other domains.There were slogans
and prayers for Sindhutai.

The nation bid farewell to her with all the respects and honours especially by the police with a mourning trumpet and three rounds of gunfire.
