Wakad Police Arrest Two Girls For Sharing Obscene And Threatening Videos On Instagram Account 'Thergaon Queen'

Thergaon, 30th January 2022: Two 18-year-old girls have been arrested for sharing obscene, abusive and threatening videos on the Instagram profile ‘Thergaon Queen’. The action was taken after the videos went viral.

Based on a complaint from Police Sub Inspector Sangita Gade, yesterday an FIR was registered at Wakad police station (Pimpri Chinchwad police) against Sakshi Hemant Shrishrimal (18) of Pawarnagar in Thergaon, Kunal Kamble of Ganeshpeth, Sakshi Rakesh Kashyap of Patrashed on Link Road in Chinchwad, who are running an account called “Thergaon-QueenN”. They were booked for offences under sections 292, 294, 506, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 67 of the Information Technology Act.

According to police, PSI Sangita had received some Instagram videos on her mobile phone which are harmful to children. Therefore, she filed a complaint against Hemant and Sakshi along with Thergaon-QueenN account holder Sakshi Shrishrimal.

A team led by Assistant Police Inspector Abhijit Jadhav of the detection branch arrested the two girls today.

“The girls told us that they were not aware of the seriousness of the videos and they have apologised. Further investigation is going on. We will arrest their friends also who are accused in the case”, said senior police inspector Dr Vivek Muglikar, in-charge of Wakad police station.

The investigation team includes Inspector (crime) Santosh Patil, Ramchandra Ghadge, Assistant Police Inspector Abhijit Jadhav, PSI Ganesh Torgal and police personnel Deepak Bhosale, Kalpesh Patil, Atiq Shaikh and Vinayak Mhaskar.
