Hadapsar, 14th September 2025: During his tour of Pune on Sunday morning, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar faced an unexpected but candid exchange with a woman citizen regarding the city’s worsening traffic situation.

The woman urged him to personally inspect the traffic conditions. Drawing a comparison with late Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, she remarked, “You should also go around to see traffic like Manohar Parrikar used to do. Come and see without informing anyone, then you will know the real problem.”

In response, Pawar appeared momentarily surprised and asked, “Who is Parrikar?” To which the woman promptly replied, “Minister of Goa.”

The woman went on to stress that traffic congestion, particularly on Amanora Road, was an everyday ordeal for residents. “It cannot be that you don’t have information about traffic. You should also go around and see the problem yourself. We will ask questions and you will answer, but this is not the solution,” she told Pawar.

Acknowledging her complaint, Pawar said, “I agree that I made a mistake, but I want to tell you that I have come here to work. Let me work.”

The exchange highlighted growing public frustration with Pune’s traffic management, even as the city continues to grapple with rapid urbanization and infrastructure strain.

After that, Pawar spoke to officials about rampant construction in the area without adequate facilities. Senior Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and police officials, including Municipal Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram, Additional Commissioner Prithviraj BP and Additional Police Commissioner Manoj Patil.
