Pune: Woman Murdered By Mother-In-Law Over Domestic Issues
Lohegaon, 9th March 2023: A woman, Ritu Malvi (28), was murdered by her mother-in-law in Kalwad on 6th March. Initially, it was reported that Ritu died due to her leg slipping, but during the investigation, it was revealed that her death was a result of her mother-in-law beating her during a minor dispute.
The accused mother-in-law Kamla Malvi (49) had admitted Ritu to the hospital to hide the serious crime of murder, but the doctors at Sassoon Hospital became suspicious and informed the Vimantal police station, who then approached the mother-in-law. After further investigation, she confessed to killing Ritu by beating her with her hands, pushing her onto the fridge, and hitting her head on the ground. Both of them used to have frequent quarrels over domestic issues.
In the wee hours of March 6, the mother-in-law beat up Ritu in a fit of anger, and after Ritu fell to the floor, she grabbed her hair and hit her head on the ground, killing her.
The police have registered a case of murder against the accused mother-in-law and arrested her within 24 hours of the incident.
The action was taken under the guidance of DCP (Zone 4) Shashikant Borate, ACP (Yerwada division) Kishor Jadhav and Senior Police Inspector Vilas Sonde. The team included Police Inspector (Crime) Sangita Mali, API SN Lahane, PSI Samu Chaudhary, ASI Shewale, Police Constable, Pathan and Todekar.
