Pune: Worker Beaten To Death Over Salary Dispute, Company Owners Among Accused

Shivajinagar, 3rd November 2023: A shocking incident of a worker being brutally beaten to death over a salary dispute has surfaced, leading to the registration of a murder case against company owners, social workers, and an ex-police officer.

The incident took place on September 1, 2023, in Model Colony, Shivajinagar. Chaturshringi police station has registered a case in this regard.

The victim, identified as Avinash Bhide, aged 36, worked as a machine operator in the company owned by Shekhar Mahadev Joglekar. The dispute reportedly revolved around salary issues, escalating into a fatal altercation.

The accused include Shekhar Mahadev Joglekar (age 58), residing in Sudarshan Society, Model Colony, Pranav Shekhar Joglekar (age 22), former policeman and political activist Dayanand Sidram Irkal (residing in Pandavnagar), Balu Pandurang Misal (aged 53, resident of Kakade Palace, Karvenagar), Pramod Srirang Shinde (aged 29, resident of Shivane), Rupesh Ravindra Kadam, Santosh alias Bunty Dattatray Harpale, Prakash Nadkarni, Nakul Shendkar, and four others. The case was filed based on a complaint by Reshma Anil Bhide, the wife of the deceased Avinash Bhide.

According to police, Avinash and the company owners, Shekhar and Pranav Joglekar, had a history of disputes over salary matters. Prior to the tragic incident, Avinash was reportedly verbally abused and expelled from the office by the Joglekars. On the day of the incident, the accused allegedly conspired and physically assaulted Avinash, resulting in his untimely death.

Police Inspector (Crime) Mahadev Jankar is conducting further investigation.
