Pune: Youth Kills Friend By Pushing Him In Well After Swimming

Hadapsar, 18th April 2021: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old boy was killed by his friend while they went for a swim at a well in Fursungi.

The deceased has been identified as Rahman Prashant Wanve, a resident of Shewalemala in Fursungi. Based on a complaint from his father, Pune city police have booked Rohit Pradip Kadam (21) of Manjari Budruk and Siddharth Mhasole.

According to police, the incident took place on April 7 at a well in Shewalemala locality of Fursungi. After swimming, Wanve was standing on the side of the well when Rohit suddenly pushed him down. Wanve sustained injuries on the stairs and fell into the well. The accused also threw away his mobile phone and fled from there.

After investigation, an FIR was registered yesterday against the two accused for offences under sections 302 (murder), 201 (destruction of evidence) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused told police that the deceased had ridiculed him, hence, he pushed him into the well.

Police Sub Inspector RS Dhaware is further investigating the case.
