Raina lone Indian seed in tough field at Balaji Amines Solapur Open $25000 ITF Women’s Tennis Tournament
Pune, December 9, 2022: Ankita Raina will be the lone seed in a tough field at the Balaji Almines Solapur Open $25000 Women’s Tennis Tournament organised by Solapur District Lawn Tennis Association (SDLTA) and MSLTA under the auspices of the ITF, AITA sponsored by Balaji Amines and to be played at the MSLTA School of Tennis at the Divisional Sports Complex , Solapur from 11th to 18th December 2022.
261 world ranked Anastasia Kulikova of Finland will be the top seed of the event , while Spanish player Yvonne Cavalle-Reimers raked 268 will be the second seed, 288th ranked Latvian Diana Marcinkevica will be ranked by Ankita currently ranked 302 ,Russians Valeria Savinykh, Ekaterina Kazionova Ukrainian Valeriya Strakhova and another Russian Ekaterina Yashina are the other seeds of the tournament that will feature 23 foreign players from over 15 countries
The event yearly since 2011 is being held for the seventh year at Solapur informed Mr Rajeev Desai , Jt Secretary MSLTA and the tournament director. Rutuja Bhosale who won the event in 2021 Sahaja Yamalapalli , Sowjanya Bavisetti , and Vaidehi Chaudhari are the other Indian players in the Main draw. Fed Cup player Riya Bhatia, and members of the Maharashtra National Games Team young Vaishnavi Adkar and Akansha Nitture have been awarded the Main Draw wildcards
The ITF has designated Saman Hasani of Iran as the supervisor for this tournament. The main draw of the event will be played from Tuesday , while the qualifying rounds of the event will begin on Sunday.
