Pune, May 15, 2020: The number of COVID patients in Pune is increasing day by day and 69 areas with the highest number of corona patients in Pune have been declared as containment zones. All these hotspot areas are located in the jurisdiction of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). The number of COVID patients has reached 3000 in the city.

 

As the Pune city police is already deployed at full strength, the Maharashtra government requested deployment  of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) ahead of Eid festival. Accordingly, a company comprising 120 men of the Rapid Action Force (RAF) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has arrived in the city. Today they conducted route march in Sahakarnagar, Dhankawadi, Balajinagar areas.

 

The route march was organized to ensure that the citizens of the containment zones do not leave their homes and follow the rules of lockdown. All roads leading to the city from these hotspots have been closed. Citizens are also prohibited from travelling outside. Despite this, many citizens are seen walking outside. Therefore, Rapid Action Force personnel will now be deployed in the area.
