Schools In Pune Closed For Classes 1-8, Action Against People Without Mask To Be Intensified

Pune, 4th January 2022: Taking into consideration the sudden increase in Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) especially those of Omicron variant, the administration has decided to close schools for classes 1-8 till January 30. Only online classes will be allowed.
The decision was taken during a Covid situation review meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar who is also the Guardian Minister of Pune District.
Also, a fine of Rs 500 will be imposed on people found without masks and Rs 1000 fine will be imposed on people found spitting. It will be implemented from January 5, informed Pune Mayor Murlidhar Mohol.
