Pune, 19th October 2021: Actors in cinema are not the real hero but soldiers fighting on borders are real heroes, said actor Nana Patekar.

He also said that our responsibility does not end by just saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’, instead we should be grateful to our soldiers because of whom we are living safely.

The 50th anniversary of India’s glorious victory over Pakistan in 1971 is being celebrated as Swarnim Vijay Varsh. As part of the celebrations, the Victory Flame or the Swarnim Vijay Mashaal is being taken to various places in Pune.

On Monday, the Victory flame reached the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) on Law College Road. It was jointly received by chief guest Nana Patekar and FTII Director Bhupendra Kainthola.

Kainthola honoured and felicitated Gallantry Award winners and war veterans, Veer Naris (war widows). A cultural program consisting of patriotic songs, poems and dance was organised to honour the victory flame.

While addressing the gathering, Patekar said, “We are living safely because of you. Unfortunately, citizens remember the soldiers only at the time of war.”

He also urged the civilians to do their part in helping out the people and the nation.
