Mumbai, 12th December 2024: Syed Kirmani, one of the most iconic wicketkeepers in cricket history, has chronicled his illustrious journey in an upcoming autobiography co-authored by Debashish Sengupta and Dakshesh Pathak. The book promises to provide a rare glimpse into the life and career of a player who helped shape Indian cricket’s golden era.

Kirmani, known for his unmatched skill behind the stumps, holds several world records, including being the fourth wicketkeeper globally to have six dismissals in an innings on debut. He also claimed five victims in a single match during the World Cup and was named the world’s best wicketkeeper in the 1983 Prudential World Cup, where India achieved its first historic win.

Speaking about the autobiography, Kirmani said, “This is more than just my story. It’s a celebration of Indian cricket during its transformative years. From winning the 1983 World Cup to the Asia Cup and the World Championship of Cricket, these were moments that defined not just my career but Indian cricket as a whole.”

The book delves into Kirmani’s journey from his early days to becoming one of the world’s finest wicketkeepers. It explores his highs, such as his pivotal role in India’s World Cup victory, and the challenges, including his abrupt and controversial exit from the sport.
