Twitter To Make Decision Regarding Layoffs Today
San Francisco, 4th November 2022: Twitter is in turmoil as Tesla CEO Elon Musk gets ownership. For the employees, today will be spent in fear. Twitter will tell its employees today whether they have jobs left or do not have to come to the office from Monday. The social media company said in an email to its employees that it would inform them about the cuts at 9:30 IST on Friday and whether they have lost their jobs.
According to a Reuters report, the mail read, “We will go through the difficult process of reducing our workforce on Friday to improve Twitter.”
Twitter has also said that its offices will be temporarily closed. All badge access will be suspended to help ensure the safety of each employee and the Twitter system and customer data.
The mail said that the employees who have been laid off will be informed about the next process on their email addresses.
Elon Musk had already made his intention clear by removing the CEO and CFO of the company on the very first day. Since then, there were speculations of massive layoffs. Elon Musk has been given the task of saving the company one billion US dollars in cost.
Hundreds of Twitter employees are saying goodbye to the company’s Slack channels as soon as the email is received. Twitter said in an email on Thursday, “If you are in an office or going to work, please return home.”
