Pune, 17th March 2025: “In our society, there are two types of Brahmanwad (Brahminism). One is overt Brahmanwad, which holds power in the country, while the other is covert Brahmanwad, deeply embedded in Maharashtra. Unfortunately, no one is fighting against it,” said senior journalist Raju Parulekar at the launch of Dr. C. P. Thorat’s book Kanshiram: Manuvadapudhe Aavhan, published by Arsh Prakashan.

Speaking at the event, Parulekar further stated, “The roots of Brahmanwad are deeply entrenched in Maharashtra. Challenging it is not easy. Whether the struggle leads to victory or defeat is secondary; what matters is who takes up the fight. Sadly, at present, no one dares to oppose it. A culture and ideology that can shape the next hundred or even a thousand years must be nurtured in society. Only then will the ideals of equality find true meaning.”

Dr. C. P. Thorat, while sharing his thoughts, remarked, “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and Kanshi Ram awakened society. True Ambedkarism lies in working selflessly for the movement without seeking positions or titles. However, internal contradictions have weakened the Ambedkarite movement, leaving the youth confused. It is crucial for young people to distinguish between their allies and adversaries.”

The event also saw the presence of senior journalist Madhu Kamble and publisher Dilip Chavan.
