Universities must be involved in Social Work: Anandiben Patel

Pune, 1st February 2023: Micro planning is a must when you work in the public sector. You must come with the solution to the problem; this is your core duty. We have all the modern technology in the Universities but there is a scarcity of educated staff to work with the technology said, Smt. Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Governor, Uttar Pradesh.

On Wednesday, 1st February, 2023 Smt. Anandiben Patel, Hon’ble Governor, Uttar Pradesh and Vice Chancellor’s delegation from Universities of Uttar Pradesh visited Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

Speaking at the occasion Smt. Anandiben Patel said, apart from giving quality education to the students the Universities should play a major role in the upliftment of the society at large. Every university should adopt at least five villages and should implement the State and Central Government Schemes in those villages. Universities should work in the sectors like Health, Sports, and Culture etc. in those villages so that it will enhance the wellbeing of the people. Universities should also look into the harmful practices in the villages like child marriage, dowry victims’ etc. and educate people to stop those. Universities must be involved in the social work that will help the society to grow from all aspects. Education and Health should be the first priority of every university Smt. Anandiben Patel added further.

Prof. (Dr). S.B. Mujumdar, Founder and President of Symbiosis and Chancellor Symbiosis International (Deemed University) in his speech mentioned that, Education alone will be able to create Peace in the world. Universities are producing engineers, advocates, doctors etc. but are we producing Good Humans? We need to create Good Humans and those will be the “Global Citizens” of this world. Producing Global citizens must be the aim of every education institution, Dr. Mujumdar added further.

Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Principal Director, Symbiosis and Pro- Chancellor, Symbiosis International University gave a welcome address and presentation on the “Internationalization of Higher Education”. Dr. Rajani Gupte, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis International University gave Symbiosis International University’s presentation. Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, Symbiosis International University gave a presentation on “Health Promoting University. Dr. R. Raman, Director, Strategy and Development, Symbiosis International University gave a presentation on “Use of Technology in Education”.
