Virtual Delhi Shuts Down As Farmers Take To The Streets On Republic Day

Delhi, January 26, 2021: In the capital Delhi, the farmers’ movement is becoming increasingly fierce. Meanwhile, internet services have been banned in many areas of Delhi-NCR till 12 pm.

According to sources, the police tried to further stop the situation from being spoiled by the spread of rumors using the internet. The Internet has been shut down in areas such as Nangloi, Singhu Border, UP Gate, Tikri, Ghazipur Border, Mukarba Chowk to prevent any such attempt. Due to this, common people in these areas are facing difficulties.

The order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs states that on January 26 in areas connected with Singhu, Ghazipur, Tikri, Mukarba Chowk, Nangloi and Delhi, under Section 7 of the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, and to establish and make public safety necessary. Internet service is being banned till 11:59 pm.

Messages in this regard are being sent by telecom operators to their customers. It states, “As per the government directive, Internet services in your area have been temporarily closed, due to which you are unable to use these services. These services will start only after receiving instructions from the government”
