Sus, 8th January 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign in Ward No. 09 gathered momentum as a large padayatra in Sus village drew a strong public response.

The BJP’s official candidates from the ward — Rohini Chimte, Ganesh Kalmkar, Mayuri Kokate and Lahu Balwadkar — participated in the procession, which began at Bhagwati Nagar and concluded at the Bhairavnath temple. Along the route, residents welcomed the candidates with flower showers, traditional aarti and slogan-raising, reflecting visible public engagement with the campaign.

Local residents, party workers and supporters turned out in large numbers, with organisers describing the response as a sign of confidence in the BJP’s development agenda for Sus village and the larger Ward No. 09 area. Party leaders said support from senior citizens, youth and families across neighbourhoods has strengthened the campaign at the grassroots level.

Addressing residents during the padayatra, BJP leaders reiterated that the election is focused on public service rather than power. They said every vote would contribute to the development of Sus village and the ward as a whole, with priority given to basic civic infrastructure and quality-of-life issues.

The BJP outlined a development roadmap for the next five years, focusing on road improvement, water supply, drainage systems, cleanliness, healthcare facilities, gardens, street lighting and traffic management. The party said the emphasis would be on implementing projects on the ground so that residents experience tangible improvements in their daily lives.

Speaking to the gathering, BJP leader Lahu Balwadkar appealed to voters to give him an opportunity to serve. “The next five years will be dedicated to the development of our ward. The BJP believes in delivering results through work, not just words,” he said.

Party functionaries said the scale of participation in the padayatra has reinforced confidence within the organisation, with early indications suggesting that the BJP is gaining an advantage in Ward No. 09 as campaigning intensifies.
