Development of airports of Vidarbha on the lines of Amravati : Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis

Amravati July 13, 2019: Entrepreneurial investments give priority to that sector because of the airline’s services. The expansion of three airports in the state of Vidarbha has been on priority. Today, while the airport is being developed at Amravati, there will be plan of government for development of airports at Akola and Yavatmal. The expansion of these airports will change the face of western Vidarbha and many new industries will be able to attract for industrial development. The district’s name will be shown on the aviation map due to the government’s efforts soon said Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He was speaking at inauguration of the work of expansion of Belora Airport in Amravati and the other various works. Guardian Minister of Amravati Dr. Anil Bonde, Minister of State for General Administration Madan Yerawar, Minister of State for Home Affairs Ranjeet Patil, Vice President of Vidarbha Development Board Dr. Sunil Deshmukh, Vice President of State Education Advisory Council Shrikant Deshpande, Zilha Parishad President Nitin Gondane, Mayor Sanjay Narwane, MP Ramdas Tadas, MP Navneet Rana, MLA Praveen Pote Patil, Arun Adsad, Virendra Jagtap, Aad. Yashomati Thakur, Ravi Rana, Ramesh Bundile, Divisional Commissioner Piyush Singh, District Collector Shailesh Nawal, Chief Executive Officer Manisha Khatri and other officials were prominently present on this occasion.

Initially, the Chief Minister performed the Bhumi Pujan rituals. Suresh Kakani, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Maharashtra Airport Development Company, delivered introductory speech. Guardian Minister Dr. Bonde welcomed honorable Chief Minister with the bouquets.

Chief Minister further said that, Bhumi Pujan of expansion of the Belora Airport that has been done due to successful follow up taken by local representatives. The expanding runway of the Belora Airport would facilitate the landing of large sized aircraft at night also. Along with roads, electricity, water and railways, air transport facility is imperative for the industrial development of any city. Industrial development of the cities having airline services airplane is growing rapidly.

The central government’s ‘Udan’ scheme emphasizes the basic infrastructure of the airline. Therefore, it is possible for the middle class to be able to avail at a cost effective rate. This has increased the speed of the development of the airlines by up to 30 %. The government is trying hard to make ordinary citizens travel by air. Belora Airport has been included in the ‘Udan’ scheme. There is a plan to provide facilities for the Mumbai airport at the beginning of the Belora Airport. The service will then be started from four important cities in the country. Along with the extension, the facility will also be built for night landing of the aircraft informed Mr. Fadnavis.

He further said that due to the expansion of Belora airport, there would be facilities for landing of big-size planes and this would accelerate the development process of textile industries at Nandgaonpeeth industrial estate. Due to the large passenger and cargo plane traffic, the industrial development of the district will get accelerated. The Samruddhi highway would be beneficial for the economic development of the state. It would be convenient to send the agricultural products of farmers to the market in a short time. There is a provision for substantial funds to remove irrigation backlog in the state through the ‘Baliaraja Abhiyan’. This would ensure the irrigation potential of the state in the coming couple of years. The extension of the airport should be completed with the best quality and within prescribed deadline. Maharashtra Airport Development Company should work to make Belora airport as the model airport of the state.

Guardian Minister Dr. Bonde demanded the facility of night landing of the aeroplanes which proved beneficial for industrial development and help in getting new industries in this area of Vidarbha.
