10 Patients Burnt To Death In ICU Of Ahmednagar District Civil Hospital
Ahmednagar, 6th November 2021: In a shocking incident, 10 patients died of burn injuries after a fire engulfed ICU ward of Ahmednagar District Civil Hospital today. The incident took place around 10 am, District Collector Rajendra Bhosale said.
All the deceased are in the age group of 62 to 70 years.
Guardian Minister Hasan Mushrif has left for Ahmednagar immediately. He said that strict action will be taken against those responsible for the fire.
Preliminary information has come to light that the fire started due to a short circuit. Relatives of the deceased patients have been told that government assistance will be provided immediately.
Sources said that 25 people were undergoing treatment in the ICU ward of the Civil Hospital.
The injured have been shifted to another room immediately.
The fire brigade, hospital administration and police administration were involved in the relief work.
Local MLA Sangram Jagtap has rushed to the spot. The condition of some of the injured is reported to be critical.
