ARMY ORGANISES EX-SERVICEMEN RALLY AT AHMEDNAGAR
An Ex Servicemen Rally was organized in Ahmdnagar under aegis of Armoured Corps Centre and School on 13 Nov 16. The rally was attended by approximately 2500 Veterans and Veer Naris hailing from Ahmednagar, Beed, Latur, Solapur and Osmanabad districts. The rally was addressed by Major General Praveen Dixit, VSM**, Commandant, Armoured Corps Centre & School, Ahmednagar who assured the Veterans and Veer Naris that they will always remain inseparable members of the Armed Forces Fraternity.
The rally was held in close co-ordination with State Administration and State Sainik Boards. The focus of rally was to facilitate redressal of grievances and extend other facilities to resolve anomalies in disbursement of pension, land and legal cases being confronted by Veterans and Veer Naris. A number of stalls from various welfare agencies and organizations of the Army and civil administration where set up at the venue. A medical team fully equipped with modern equipment and medicines was also in place and employment fare for advising kith and kin of Veterans and Veer Naris on employment avenue was an another attraction. Banks also established information centres.
The rally was major step forward for ameliorating the day to day problems of the Veterans and Veer Naris. It gave a platform to the war widows to express their concerns directly to the concerned officials.
