Pune – A BJP corporator was booked by Pimpri police station for allegedly abetting suicide of a vendor.

The deceased has been identified as Sachin Suresh Dhawle (44), a resident of Sant Tukaramnagar in Pimpri. He allegedly committed in his house by hanging in the wee hours of Monday.

After his relatives refused to cremate the body unless case if filed, Pimpri police booked corporator Sujata Palande and her accomplices.

His relatives said that earlier Dhawle’s wife had given a complaint on April 9 but no action was taken. “Dhawle had made 25 carts/stalls after taking money from vendors. But they were taken away by workers of Palande and Dhawle’s stall was damaged. Her workers used to come home and abuse him”, stated the complaint filed by Dhawle’s wife.
