Chaitanya Shah, Janet Vidhi win NDA OPEN SQUASH 2023
Pune, September 18, 2023: Chaitanya Shah and Janet Vidhi won the mens and the Women’s Singles title at the NDA Open Squash’, a Two Star National ranking squash tournament held under the aegis of Squash Racket Federation of India (SRFI).
Over 198 players , comprising national level players including serving officers, veterans and cadets of NDA participated in the event which was held to Commemorate ’75 Glorious Years of National Defence Academy Khadakwasla’ at the state-of-the-art Indoor Sports Complex at the National Defence Academy from 15 September 2023 to 17 September 2023.
In the men’s finals Maharashtra’s Chaitanya Shah upset top seeded Vaibhav Chauhan of Services 11-08, 11-08, 13-11 , In the Women’s Finals top seeded Janet Vidhi of Maharashtra accounted for Aryaa Dwivedi of Telangana 11-05, 11-02, 11-04.
The ‘NDA Open Squash’ culminated with a prize distribution ceremony at the hands of the Commandant of NDA Vice Admiral Ajay Kochhar AVSM ,NM. Dr. Dayanand Kumar, Joint Secretary of MOA, Dr. Pradeep Khandre, President Maharashtra Squash Rackets Association were present on the occasion.
